xinhua news agency reports the overall planning of 2010-2030 for tianjin port has been finished by tianjin traffic transport and port administration and traffic transport ministry planning and research institute. this planning is designed to focus on the layout of one prot and nine zones and speed up construction of northern international shipping center
as required by this planning, the beijiang port area will focus on development of modern logistics, bonded storage, financial commerce and shipping services, and dongjiang port area will focus on container transportation businesses. nanjiang port area will focus on bulk cargo transshipment such as coal, iron ores, and petrol and its finished products etc. dagukou port area will be mainly engaged in such businesses as shipbuilding and repairs, equipment manufacturing, and grain oil processing etc. gaoshaliang port area will focus on equipment manufacturing business in the near term with an eye on near-port industry and inland material transport for the long term development; dagang port area will serve petrochemical industry of nangang industry zone in the near term with additional functions set aside for bulk cargo transportation. haihe port area serves industrial development, building materials transportation and traveler transportation. beitang port area will focus on passenger transport with coastal tourist zone construction as sideline. hangu port area serves aquatic product industry development and focus on general cargo and frozen materials transportation. tianjin port witnessed fast increase of cargo throughput in recent years and its total planned area is up to 245 sqm and the planned production berth coastline could accommodate 390 production berths of various types. till 2015, the sea route grade of tianjin port will be up to 300 thousand tons and the cargo throughput will be over 550 million tons and container throughput will be over 17 million 20”contgainers.
